Rogowska continues hot streak in Bendigo and Rodionova gets back at Bai

November 8, 2017 by Rob Keating

Canberra International winner Olivia Rogowska was back in action today at the Bendigo International. The number six seed took on Japanese qualifier Ramu Ueda. Rogowska who has won 19 of her last 21 on the Australian Pro Tour including titles in Penrith, Cairns and Canberra.

Rogowska carried her good recent form into Bendigo and took the first set 6-0. Ueda could have easily let the match slip away as she was bundled out of the Canberra tournament 6-0, 6-0 in the opening round against Alison Bai. Instead, she was able to show some fight to push Rogowska to a 6-0, 6-4 victory.

In round two Rogowska will play Ukrainian qualifier Marianna Zakarlyuk who defeated Jess Moore 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-4.

In the opening round of the Bendigo tournament, the top seed Arina Rodionova faced her conqueror from the Canberra International, Alison Bai. This time around Rodionova had a comfortable 6-3, 6-0 win to advance to meet Astra Sharma.
