Australia’s Olivia Rogowska continues to shine in the $60,000 ITF Futures event in Bendigo. Coming off a tournament win in Canberra last week, Rogowska easily accounted for Ukrainian qualifier Marianna Zakarlyuk 6-0, 6-2. The match lasted 1 hour and 1 minute.
Destanee Aiava lost to Tammi Patterson 7-5, 6-4 to leave Rogowska as the only player left in the Bendigo tournament who had reached the semifinals in Canberra.
Papua New Guinea’s Abigail Tere-Apisah defeated Naiktha Bains 7-5, 6-3, top seed Arina Rodionova accounted for Astra Sharma 6-4, 7-5. Mai Minokoshi defeated Zoe Hives 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
In an all international match, Slovakia’s Tamara Zidansek defeated USA’s Jennifer Elie 6-0, 0-6, 6-3. Sara Tomic continued into the third round after defeating French player Alize Lim 6-0, 6-1, 7-6(3).
